Young's arrangement of 'Silent Night' was "the hottest song this christmas on radio staions that play International music across India including AIR FM which is the largest network Pan India". :: The new Neil C. Young recording is now complete, so hopefully very soon it shall be available in both digital and physical formats. You can of course get your free download of the single The Stockton 3 from this site to keep you going.

:: Neil C. Young has been working with Canadian songwriter Gabriel Minnikin, writing brass parts for his new album, which will be seeing the world in the near future also. More on Gabriel is available at www.myspace.com/gabrielminnikin.

:: Plans are already afoot for shows and new tracks. Plans for the new year could well see a solo guitar record and of course a new recording with trio which also maybe will include a standards recording as well as new material. There are tentative plans for a series of collaborations with some of the artists Neil C. Young has worked with over the years, to create a a record of songs using their influences and styles with the instrumental jazz influences.

December 2009

:: The new single from the forthcoming album is now available from this website, for free! To listen/download, go to The Stockton Three (opens in a new window/tab). The single is 'The Stockton 3' and is from the album 'Where's yours?' which is to be released in the early new year. Look out for show dates and video to go along with the new release.

:: The new single has been getting a lot of airplay in India, and a list is on Neil C Young's recordings page. They are available online also, so go and get some listening in.

:: A christmas cover is being recorded for WOA Records, the Indian company who took 'Next' from 'Chick(pea) Soup' and took it to, at the last count, no.2 in the Indian Album charts. Keep posted for when and where this will be available.

:: Dates are being worked on for the new year but one for now...
December 22nd: Neil C Young will be appearing at the annual Marc Riley and Guy Garvey Christmas extravaganza on BBC Radio 6. Alongside the Earlies will be many of the Manchester music scene. For more info, go to bbc.co.uk/6music.

:: Neil C. Young, along with Sam Dale, will be appearing on Diversity FM 103.5 on Friday 17th July from 6pm. Playing live and playing some tracks from various recordings and also talking music... Nice!

:: The Neil C. Young will be appearing at the Manchester Jazz Festival performing with Nicolette Elkinson at St. Annes Square on the 31st July from around midday. It's free, and for info visit: www.manchesterjazz.com.

:: "Chick(pea) Soup" has been spreading itself across the globe and the very latest review can be found at www.maxazine.nl. The non-Dutch speakers out there need not worry, a translation will soon be up here.

:: Neil C Young has been working�for www.techtubevalves.com, testing their brand new valve, the E813CC. A fuller review of the test will appear on here soon but for now: "They are unbelievably good. I thought my amp had balls; it didn't. It does now."�

:: The Trio are in the midst of recording and shall be heading down to Guildford to record some live tracks. Keep an ear open soon for some tracks from said sessions.

:: The autumn should see the release of new material. This will be a real mix of pieces. From Solo Guitar works to pieces with strings and the use of voice. Also, as per usual, through many influences. There are a couple of tracks already up on www.myspace.com/neilcyoungtrio.

:: Also, with LA Singer/Songwriter Mario Martin Zelaya on new material for both his new works and also as part of a project with other songwriters from LA. The project is the creation of a CD to accompany LA novelist, Hugh Bonar and his upcoming novel, "Avalon". A number of songwriters in Los Angeles were each assigned a chapter to write a song about and the featured track by Mario Martin Zelaya feat. Neil C Young, is a track called �Once and future boozer�. :: The Neil C. Young Trio will be appearing at The Robert Gillow on August 13th. It will be the 3rd visit for the trio and the final show before Neil C. Young heads off to Finland. Show starts at 9pm.

:: As mentioned briefly in the above post, Neil C. Young will shortly be heading off to Tampere, Finland, for 12 days of gigs, performing alongside his fellow Birmingham Conservatoire allumni, bassist and guitarist Anu and Petri Ahjokoski. Photos and an updated travelogue are to follow, so keep an eye out for those on his return to English shores...

:: As well as the above two dates, the trio are also set for a few shows up north. They will be appearing at The Stonewell Tavern, Lancaster on April 3rd from 9.00 pm, The Bridge Bier Huis, Burnley on April 24th from 9.00 pm, and The Sparrow Hawk, Burnley on Sunday May 11th from 1.00 pm in the afternoon.
